What Are the Common Modification Methods of Pa Materials?

Ⅰ. Introduction of PA material modification


PA plastics are widely used in life, and there are many kinds of modified varieties. Common ones are reinforced PA, MC nylon, aromatic PA, transparent PA, high impact (super tough) PA, electroplating PA, conductive PA, flame retardant PA , PA and other polymer blends and alloys, etc., to meet different special requirements, as various structural materials, widely used as a substitute for traditional materials such as metal and wood.


Ⅱ. Modification method of PA material


1. Glass fiber reinforced PA: The molding process of glass fiber reinforced PA material is roughly the same as that of the unreinforced PA material, but because the flow is worse than that before the enhancement, the injection pressure and injection speed should be appropriately increased, and the barrel temperature should be increased by 10-40 °C.


2. Weather-resistant PA: Carbon black and other UV-absorbing additives are added to the PA material, which greatly enhances the self-lubrication of the PA material and the wear on the metal, and will affect the blanking and wear of the parts during molding. Therefore, it is necessary to use a combination of screw, barrel, glue head, glue ring and glue washer with strong feeding ability and high wear resistance.


3. Transparent PA: has good tensile strength, impact strength, rigidity, wear resistance, chemical resistance, surface hardness and other properties, high light transmittance, similar to optical glass, processing temperature is 300--315 ℃, When molding, it is necessary to strictly control the barrel temperature. If the melt temperature is too high, the product will be discolored due to degradation. If the temperature is too low, the transparency of the product will be affected due to poor plasticization. The mold temperature should be as low as possible. High mold temperature will reduce the transparency of the product due to crystallization.


4. Flame retardant PA: Most of the flame retardants are easily decomposed at high temperature, release acidic substances, and have a corrosive effect on metals. Therefore, plasticizing components (screw, rubber head, rubber ring, rubber gasket, flange etc.) require hard chrome plating.


In terms of technology, try to control the barrel temperature not too high and the injection speed not too fast to avoid the discoloration of the product and the decline of mechanical properties caused by the decomposition of the rubber material due to the high temperature.


Nylon has excellent mechanical properties, wear resistance, self-lubricating properties, and good molding processing. However, it has defects in water absorption, dimensional stability and electrical properties, and its performance in high and low temperature resistance also needs to be improved. If there is demand, there will be manufacturing. Modified nylon special materials have been improved in many aspects through filling and strengthening, blending and other methods. In this way, the scope of use of modified PA materials has been continuously expanded and used more and more widely.
